Sunrock Ceramics: SBA 504 Loan Feature
Kiln Creations: For twenty years, Sunrock Ceramics has been a manufacturer for manufacturers. Founded in 2005 by Doug Thurman, their services have grown to include a wide variety of technical products, from alumina crucibles and saggers to pusher plates for high temperature furnaces, to specialty refractory shapes for kilns and other high temperature thermal processing applications. These quality products have been used in a range of manufacturing applications like specialty glass, fuel cells, powder metallurgy, the automotive supply chain, battery materials, and more.
Thurman and his team have been spearheading thermal processing improvements since their beginning. Developing custom products that meet demanding customer needs and maintaining quality control is the spark that keeps them going (and their kilns, too).
SBA 504 Building Purchase
Just as Sunrock Ceramics specially manufactures to their customers’ needs, partnering with SomerCor on an SBA 504 loan meant they could build a space customized for their own needs, too. By taking advantage of the loan program’s borrower-friendly terms, Sunrock Ceramics now has a customized facility designed to meet their specific operational needs. Located in Broadview, Illinois, the Sunrock Ceramic facility showcases top-of-the-line equipment and enough room to keep pace with the company’s growth.
“Working with SomerCor for the last twenty years has been an essential part of Sunrock Ceramics’ success,” says Thurman. “Being able to build out a space exactly the way we needed allows us to produce effectively and efficiently. We are so thankful for the SomerCor team’s services and support.”
With SomerCor’s help, Sunrock Ceramics has continued to deliver to manufacturers across an array of industries while contributing to their local community’s economic development. Sunrock’s investment has created twenty new manufacturing jobs.
