Phoenix Bean: SBIF Feature in Edgewater

SBIF Grant Impact (Bryn Mawr/Broadway)

For 25 years, the Small Business Improvement Fund (SBIF) has provided grants to Chicago entrepreneurs to renovate commercial and industrial properties. SomerCor is proud to have administered the program on behalf of the Chicago Department of Planning and Development since its launch!

To celebrate, DPD Commissioner Ciere Boatright visited five-time SBIF recipient, Jenny Yang, the owner of Phoenix Bean and Jenny’s Tofu. She gave Commissioner Boatright a tour of her production facility at 5410 N. Broadway and shared the impact of the SBIF grant on her business.
