(CHICAGO, IL) Elisabeth Williams, Vice President and Loan Officer at SomerCor, received the Corporate Woman of Achievement Award at the NAWBO Chicago Annual Celebration of Achievement.

Williams is an experienced Small Business Administration (SBA) 504 lender with a focus on expanding outreach to women in banking, commercial real estate, and entrepreneurship. Throughout her career, she has been responsible for over $140 million in small business loans.

“Her background as an entrepreneur and deep understanding of the SBA 504 loan program is a unique and effective combination,” said Manuel Flores, President & CEO of SomerCor. “She is committed to expanding the SomerCor footprint throughout Illinois to grow businesses and create more jobs, especially among women-owned companies.”

Williams was one of six women leaders recognized for not only their own professional accomplishments, but a commitment to supporting other women on their respective career paths. “It is a privilege to honor accomplished women at our annual Achievement Award Luncheon that showcases the diversity and success stories that inspire our community,” said Elizabeth Colón, President NAWBO Chicago.

In February of this year, SomerCor became a sponsor of NAWBO Chicago. As a non-profit SBA certified small business lender, SomerCor is a natural fit to support NAWBO Chicago members with their capital needs. Williams has led the way in strengthening this relationship by participating in public and virtual events, as well as leading a webinar on SBA small business resources in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis.
