SBIF Grant Impact (47th/Ashland)

Hart’s Laundrymat has served the Back of the Yards community for over 30 years. Owner Arthur Lee applied for a Small Business Improvement Fund (SBIF) grant in 2020 at the encouragement of his local delegate agency, Back of Yards Neighborhood Council.

The scope of work at Hart’s Coin Laundry included masonry work including the replacement of damaged bricks and tuckpointing; storefront improvements including the installation of a glass vestibule, double pane windows with double doors and associated framework; installation of metal awning framing for the back door; and interior wall repairs with drywall, and painting.
