11 Million Reasons to Celebrate National Women’s Small Business Month

October is National Women’s Small Business Month! Supporting women-owned businesses with their capital needs, from established companies to those in growth mode, is a critical part of the SomerCor mission.

This infographic created by the Small Business Administration and SCORE highlights the gains of female entrepreneurs. It also includes areas of growth. Key statistics include:

  • There are more than 11 million woman-owned businesses in the U.S. — 38 percent of all businesses
  • These women-owned business support nearly 9 million jobs and generating annual revenues of $1.6 trillion
  • Woman of color lead the way – they founded nearly 8 in 10 new women-owned businesses started since 2007
