Company Profile

Bronzeville Wingz specializes in sauced, battered or naked, boneless, party and whole wings – with more than 30 sauce flavors! Owner/operator Nichole Jackson is a native and current resident of the Bronzeville community.  After 20 years of serving in the education field, Jackson decided to pursue her entrepreneurial passion and open a business. In an effort to help with the revitalization of her community, she chose to open Bronzeville Wingz on the 43rd Street corridor and hire locally.

SBIF Grant Impact (47th/King)

As a new startup business, accessing capital through SBIF to complete necessary building improvements was critical for Jackson. Her location needed exterior work to ensure safety and create a more welcoming environment for customers.

“When I opened Bronzeville Wingz, the storefront was very uninviting,” said Jackson. “People weren’t aware that I was open because of how dark the windows were and because of the poor exterior lighting. The grant I received from the SBIF helped me to create an inviting and well lit storefront that has increased awareness of my business and brightened up the neighborhood.”

The scope of work at Bronzeville Wingz included the installation of a new aluminum storefront window system, removal of old metal signage, tuckpointing, and the replacement of exterior lighting.
