Company Profile

Chicagoland Ham (formerly Honey Baked Ham Co.) is a family-owned and operated business founded in 1968 as the first shop to bring spiral sliced, bone-in hams to Chicagoland. After training in the original location, Robert Williams opened the second shop on Stony Island Avenue in 1978. He remains the owner/operator of the Stony Island location today.

This longstanding community staple has served multiple generations, both through their gourmet products and the hiring and training of local residents. For Williams and his team, their reputation and loyal customers are a result of professional service and providing top quality product for over 40 years.

SBIF Grant Impact (Stony Island/Burnside TIF)

Williams applied for the SBIF grant after a neighboring business, another SBIF grantee, suggested he apply.

“Our goal was to improve the look of the building to match our neighborhood history and make it more welcoming to customers,” said Williams. “The SBIF program helped make these interior and exterior enhancements possible.”

The grant funds for this project were used for the installation of a storefront system (including new aluminum framing with windows and a door), a front masonry façade rebuild, roofing repairs, interior electrical work, flooring repairs, and the complete renovation of two restrooms.
