SBIF Grant Impact (Kinzie Industrial Corridor TIF)

Wolf Point owner, Pavlos Dafnis, heard about the SBIF Fund from the Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago (ICNC). ICNC is a small business incubator with an manufacturing focus, and a partner delegate agency with the City of Chicago.

SBIF provided Dafnis an avenue to access much needed capital to transform his space – setting the stage to grow his business and invest in the neighborhood.

“The Small Business Improvement Fund has been a tremendous help in opening our business,” said Dafnis. “It gave us the support and opportunity to repair and restore the 1940s bow-truss building we’re located in. Resources such as this empowers small businesses to thrive in their communities and enables us to invest, grow, and give back.”

Dafnis used the awarded SBIF funds to complete major renovations during Wolf Point’s start-up phase, including: storefront improvements, new exterior doors, tuckpointing, roof repairs, interior demolition and buildout, and mechanical installations (HVAC, plumbing, and electrical).
