SomerCor, a Chicago-based Small Business Administration (SBA) Certified Development Company, received a $50,000 grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago (FHLBank Chicago). These funds were part of over $900,000 awarded through the Community First Capacity-Building Grant Program to 21 nonprofit lenders.

The purpose of the FHLBank Chicago grant program is to invest in nonprofit lenders, like SomerCor, that serve the capital needs of small businesses across all communities throughout Illinois and Wisconsin.

“We are grateful to the FHLBank Chicago and proud to partner with Glenview State Bank on this grant,” said SomerCor President & CEO, Manuel Flores. “These funds will help us better serve small businesses. Now more than ever, with a difficult economic environment impacting small businesses, it is critical for us to be there as a strong SBA financing partner.”
